YouTube looper for musicians: loop a riff, slow it down, speed it back up

Quick answer

Paste a YouTube lesson into RepeatWatch, press A and B around the bar you can't play, and set the speed to 70%. The speed trainer adds 5% after every three loops until you're at full tempo. Save each bar as a section and jump between them with keys 1–9.

What are you learning?

Try it now: loop your hardest bar at full speed five times, then at 70% five times. Which could you actually play?

Try it in three steps

  1. Open the example: 4 seconds of a beginner piano lesson, already looping at 70%.
  2. Play along until you get three clean repeats in a row.
  3. Open Practice and switch on the speed trainer: +5% every 3 loops, up to 100%.

Open an example loop a Pianote beginner piano lesson, 4 seconds at 70%.

The Loop Ladder

The Loop Ladder is the method behind every RepeatWatch preset. Three rules:

  1. Tiny section. One bar or about 4 seconds. Not the whole solo.
  2. Slow start. 70% speed. Slow enough that you can play it clean.
  3. Climb only after clean repeats. +5% after three clean loops. Fumble, and you drop back one rung.

The free speed trainer does the climbing for you. You count the clean repeats.

What's free

Every player feature, with no sign-up:

  • Repeat a whole video or an A–B loop of any part
  • Speed from 0.25× to 2× and the speed trainer
  • Pause between loops and stop after a set number of loops
  • Saved sections (keys 1–9) and timestamp import
  • Loop playlists and share links that keep the section and speed

Frequently asked questions

Does slowing down change the pitch?

No. RepeatWatch uses YouTube's own speed control, which keeps the original pitch from 0.25× to 2×. A lesson at 70% sounds slower but stays in the same key.

Can I loop a lesson on my phone?

Yes. RepeatWatch works in the browser on iPhone and Android. Open repeatwatch.com, paste the lesson link and drag A and B on the timeline. Keep the screen on while you practise.

Can I import the lesson's chapters?

Yes. Copy the timestamps from the video description, choose Import timestamps and paste them. Every chapter becomes a saved section you can loop with keys 1–9.

Is RepeatWatch free?

Yes. Every player feature is free with no sign-up: A–B loops, speed, the speed trainer, sections, timestamp import, playlists and share links.
