Why are step-by-step drawing videos good for grades 1–2?
Children aged 6–8 are building pencil control and learning to see simple shapes inside bigger pictures. Following one line at a time helps them finish a drawing they are proud of, and many go on to draw the same subject their own way.
How do I slow down a drawing lesson?
Lower the speed to 0.75x or 0.5x so the artist's pencil moves at your child's pace. If one step is tricky, such as a dolphin's tail, drag A and B around it and it replays until your child is ready to move on.
Frequently asked questions
What supplies does my child need?
Paper, a pencil, a black marker and crayons or coloured markers are enough for nearly every lesson. Art for Kids Hub usually draws in marker, so pausing before each new line helps.
How do I limit time on a drawing session?
Use the sleep timer to stop after 20 or 30 minutes, or open a single lesson so it ends when the drawing is done. Pausing often turns screen time into drawing time.
