How do I use these videos to teach road safety?
Watch a song together, then practise on a real walk: stop at the curb, hold hands, look and listen. Set an A–B loop on the verse about looking both ways so your child hears the steps again, and use Repeat one for a favourite song.
Which videos are for older children and grown-ups?
The songs at the top suit preschoolers. The two films at the end, from the US road safety agency NHTSA, cover walking and bike riding. They are better for older children watching with an adult who can talk through each tip.
Frequently asked questions
Can songs replace holding hands near traffic?
No. Songs help children remember the rules, but young children still need an adult close by near roads. Many families sing a road safety song on the way out the door as a quick reminder.
Do the road safety rules change by country?
Some do. In the UK, Australia and other countries where cars drive on the left, the nearest traffic comes from the right. Adapt the look-both-ways order to where you live and point it out on your own street.
