How can I tell if something is a scam?
Common red flags are pressure to act fast, a demand to pay by gift card, wire transfer, crypto or mobile money, promises of guaranteed high returns, and someone you have only met online asking for money. Real banks, tax offices and regulators will not ask for your PIN or password.
How do I use RepeatWatch to learn the warning signs?
A–B loop the FCA tactic videos or the FTC phishing explainer until you can name each red flag. Slow a real victim story to 0.75× to notice the moment pressure started, and save the steps for reporting fraud on keys 1–9 so you can find them fast if you ever need them.
Frequently asked questions
What should I do if I think I have been scammed?
Stop paying, contact your bank or mobile money provider straight away and ask whether the payment can be stopped or reversed, then report it. The FTC videos show how to report in the US and through econsumer.gov for cross-border scams. Elsewhere, report to the police or your national fraud agency.
Is any crypto or trading offer safe if a friend recommends it?
Be careful. Many romance and "pig butchering" scams start with a friendly contact who shows fake profits. Check that any firm is registered with your financial regulator, never send money to someone you have not met, and treat promised returns as a warning sign.
Is this financial or legal advice?
No. These videos are educational and come from the channels that published them. They are not financial, tax or legal advice for your situation. Reporting routes and protections differ by country, so for personal decisions consider a qualified, regulated adviser, your bank or a free, government-backed money service.
