How does looping help with cursive?
Cursive is about the path of the pencil: where a letter starts, its loops and how it joins the next one. Set A and B around one letter's demonstration and it replays on its own while your child traces it, then writes it alone.
Should kids learn lowercase or uppercase first?
Most programs teach lowercase first because those letters appear far more often and join together in words. This playlist follows that order: six lowercase lessons, then uppercase A–H, I–P and Q–Z.
Frequently asked questions
What grade learns cursive?
In US schools that teach it, cursive usually starts in grade 2 or 3 (ages 7–9) and continues through grades 4 and 5. Some schools no longer teach it, so many families practice at home with short daily sessions.
Why is this playlist shorter than others?
We only include cursive lessons from established education channels, and Twinkl USA's nine-lesson series covers every letter. We will add more when we find lessons of the same quality.
