How can kids use these for a planet project?
Pick the planet video, set an A–B loop around the facts they need, and slow it to 0.75x so they can write notes. Save different facts on keys 1–9 to jump between them while writing.
How is this different from the younger science playlist?
Science videos for kids is a mixed grab bag for grades 1–2. This playlist sticks to space, with longer one-planet episodes and Crash Course Kids lessons on orbits, gravity and seasons pitched at grades 3–5.
Frequently asked questions
Is Pluto included?
Yes. FreeSchool has an episode on Pluto and the dwarf planets, and a guide to Ceres, Pluto, Eris, Haumea and Makemake, explaining why Pluto is now called a dwarf planet.
How do I limit screen time?
Set the sleep timer for 20 or 30 minutes, or stop after one play of a video. Videos play in YouTube's player, so YouTube may show ads. Watching together and talking about it helps too.
