How can I prepare my child for daycare or preschool?
Talk about it in simple words, visit together if you can, and practise short goodbyes. Many children cry at drop-off at first and settle soon after. A quick, warm, predictable goodbye ritual often helps more than a long one.
How do I use RepeatWatch for drop-off practice?
Drag A and B around the chorus of "Grownups Come Back" and sing it together on the way. The Sesame Workshop "Transition Time" clips show children what happens through the day. The Big Bird drop-off tips and Child Mind Institute videos at the end are for grown-ups.
Frequently asked questions
What if my child is still upset after a few weeks?
Every child adjusts at their own pace. Talk with your child's teacher or key worker about how the day goes after you leave. If worries continue, your child's doctor or health visitor can help.
How long should my child watch?
A song or one short episode is plenty. Set Stop after on one video or use the sleep timer so viewing ends on its own, then talk together about what happened in the story.
