What do children learn about paragraphs in 2nd grade?
In 2nd grade (ages 7–8) children learn that a paragraph has a topic sentence, details that support it and a closing sentence. They write informational paragraphs, opinion pieces with reasons and linking words, and short personal narratives with a clear beginning, middle and end.
How can RepeatWatch help with writing lessons?
Set an A–B loop on the part of a lesson that models one step, such as writing a topic sentence, and let it replay while your child writes their own. Slow it to 0.75x for a tricky step, save each lesson part on keys 1–9, and stop after a few loops.
