How do we memorize 50 states and capitals?
Learn one region at a time. Homeschool Pop's region videos split the map into small groups, so loop one region for a week, say each state and capital aloud, then add the next region. Songs help hold the order in memory.
How can an A–B loop help with a long song?
The 50 states songs move fast. Drag A and B around one verse, slow it to 0.75x so every name is clear, and let it repeat. Once your child can sing that part, move the loop to the next verse.
Frequently asked questions
What grade learns the states and capitals?
Many US schools cover regions and state locations in grades 3–5 (ages 8–11), often in grade 4 alongside state history. Expectations vary by school, so use these videos to practice whatever your child is working on.
Is there a video for every state?
Not yet. KLT has songs for many individual states, and Homeschool Pop covers every state through its regional lessons. The playlist mixes both with whole-country overviews, so every state is covered at least once.
