How does a goat, sheep or cattle business make money?
Most small farms earn by selling animals for meat, often after a fattening period timed for festivals and high-demand seasons, or by selling milk. Some sell breeding stock. Good feed, parasite control and healthy animals keep costs down, and many farmers join groups to reach better buyers.
How do I use RepeatWatch to learn livestock farming?
Play all on repeat as a course. Slow a lesson to 0.75× while noting a feed mix or a deworming routine, and A–B loop the FAMACHA eyelid scoring demonstration until you can score it yourself. Save the goat and cattle segments of long Shamba Shape Up episodes on keys 1–9.
Frequently asked questions
Are goats or sheep easier for beginners than cattle?
Many beginners start with goats or sheep because they cost less, need less land and reproduce faster. Cattle need more feed and capital but can earn more per animal. Either way, start small, learn parasite control early and line up buyers before you grow the herd.
Do I need a vet even if I watch these videos?
Yes. The videos teach good habits like checking animals, vaccinating and managing parasites, but medicines, doses and vaccination rules differ by country. Work with a local vet or animal health officer, and check local rules on movement and sale of animals.
Is this legal, tax or financial advice?
No. These videos are educational and come from the channels that published them. They are not legal, tax, veterinary or financial advice for your farm. Use them to learn, then talk to a local extension officer, vet or accountant before buying animals.
